Assembly

The assembly, which consists of 21 members from state institutions and the public sector, takes decisions of the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO. President of the Latvian National Commission for UNESCO is the Minister for Culture and vice-presidents are the Minister for Education and Science and the Minister for Foreign Affairs. The administrative work of the Commission is coordinated by the Secretary-General, who is selected by the Assembly in an open competition and employed for a period of five years.
